Ramen chicken

Braised Chicken for ramen

Ingredients

2 lbs bone in chicken thighs  
1 tbsp oil  
1/2 cup mirin  
1/2 cup japanese soy sauce  
1 cup water  
1/4 cup sake/white wine  
1 tbsp brown sugar  
4 garlic cloves, smashed  

Instructions

  1. Heat pot on medium heat

  2. Preheat oven to 250

  3. Sear chicken thighs skin side down for 4-5 min on medium heat. Once skin starts to release, flip and sear other side for 4 min

  4. While chicken is searing, combine remaining ingredients in small pot and bring to a boil

  5. Once chicken is done searing, deglaze pan by pouring the liquid in small pot into larger pot

  6. Cover put and put into oven for 10 min. Remove once chicken hits 155 degrees internally
